Doctor at NCC informed me that the result was good - meaning the tissues were found to be non-cancerous. Felf a sense of relief. Informed Richard of the outcome immediately as he would be worried and anxious to know. He had been the only person who knew about the tests and had been showing his moral support through his words of encouragement and comfort. He was as relieved and happy as I when I spoke to him. With one load off my mind, I went back to office, after fixing the date (17 Aug 2010) for surgery to remove the lump.

Completed SHAPE RUn 2010
ALYSSA'S PROGRESS IN PIANO CLASS
Alyssa's piano teacher advised that I should consider sending Alyssa for individual piano class as she had been diligent in practising and had progressed quite fast. Attending group lesson would mean that she'll have to slow down her pace. As individual sessions are only available on weekdays afternoon and no one is available to send n fetch her since the maid has to look after mother, I may have to switch her to Ossia.
WARDROBE & Weight
While rearranging my wardrobe yesterday, discovered (to my horror) that besides having at least 4 brand new dresses that had not been worn, I had 4 new skirts and 2 blouses, 2 sweaters, 2 sports pants, 3 sports jersies that are still untouched. Some of them no longer fit me as I've lost weight. Today father (he had not seen me for 2 weeks) complained that I had lost too much weight and warned me to start eating more! He had forgotten I had been much thinner before. Should I stop or should I push my limit.... =)
SHAPE RUN
Tomorrow's the SHAPE RUN! Signed up for the 10 km. But i had just been informed that the starting time is 7am! And it's at Nicoll Highway. Looks like have to get a cab to Concourse$$$. Hope I can wake up early.

ALYSSA'S FIRST COMMUNION
PLASTER
Alyssa spotted the plaster covering the incision made during the biopsy. Naturally, she wanted to know why. Ignore her, she'll persist. So I told her hastily that it was injection. Then she wanted to know what it was for. Why not on the hand etc..Aiyo. So I told her "it's for fun lah".
ALYSSA's GOOD WEEK
Alyssa happily told me on Thursday that this week has been a good week for her:
At the Science Centre, she saw a hissing cockcroach lay egg & a nymph hatch from its egg;
She'll be getting a Guzheng (even though it's second hand) on Sunday; and
She'll be meeting Uncle Richard.

Appt at NCC
Spent a day at NCC going throught ultrasound scan, mammography and then biopsy. The most gruelling of the three procedures is the mammography and as if it wasn't bad enough, I had to undergo twice in the same morning. As a lump of abt 2 cm in size showed up in the scan, I had to undergo the biopsy. Results will only be out after 2 weeks. So I went for a jog with Richard in the evening and will be back to work tomorrow.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dread tomorrow when mother is discharged. It's going to disrupt our schedule. Father has packed his things and said would drop by to do grocery shopping for us. Hope we can cope. If my test results is positive, she's going to be added stressor to me. Hope it turns out fine. sigh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My Kindergarten Years
Had flashbacks about my kindergarten days. The kindergarten class I attended was run by the "Barisan Socialis", a left-wing political party. The school was located at the ground floor of a shop house at Tras Street. A small tailoring shop shielded the school from public view. Teachers at the school were Chinese speaking, and their political views were pro-communist. Students were taught to sing praises of Mao Zedong, and performed songs and dances the Cultural Revolution way. During outings, we were told to repeat slogans proclaiming Cultural Revolution. We followed blindly without understanding anything. It was much later in my teens when I was more exposed to political history that I made out what those slogans were about. I can still vividly remember some of these.

COSFEST 2010
Alyssa was all excited about going to the Cosfest 2010 at Downtown East. So after sending the kids for swimming lesson and visited mother during lunch, I brought her to the Cosfest. It was all worth it because her favourite Naruto Characters were there. Spent about three hours at the Cosfest and headed home.

Hectic day
Today had been quite hectic:
Medical Appt early in the morning;
Rushed home and sent Alyssa to Piano Class;
Managed to get a pair of shoes during the hour;
Rushed her to church, but realised that the meeting was over;
Guessed I did not have sufficient time to go to SGH,
so went home and did my 5 km.

Visited SGH
Visited mother at SGH. She had been admitted after a fall. X-ray results weren't made known yet. But saw that she was cheerful because Terence was there. Mother had told everyone else that I was angry with her for going home on her own after staying over at my place for a couple of days recently(HUH ?????). In her eyes, I'm always the one who dislikes her, argued with her etc. I don't give a damn about what she thinks and I'm quite immune to all these. So Sharon and I just laughed it off. Terence said just let her do whatever she likes.
